Company Evaluated on Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision

SOUTH HARWICH, Mass. – December 1, 2015

BackOffice Associates, a worldwide leader of information governance and data modernization solutions, today announced that Gartner, Inc., a leading IT research and advisory firm, has positioned BackOffice Associates in its Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools for the first time. Gartner’s evaluation of BackOffice Associates was based on the company’s completeness of vision and ability to execute.

Gartner clients can view the full “Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools” report by Saul Judah and Ted Friedman, published November 18, 2015:

“We believe this recognition by Gartner, to be included on the Quadrant for the first time, is a testament to our momentum in successfully helping organizations utilize strategic data quality initiatives to support their critical business processes and decisions,” said David Booth, chairman and CEO of BackOffice Associates.

Added Rex Ahlstrom, chief strategy officer of BackOffice Associates, “Our vast experience in complex industries such as manufacturing, life sciences and retail helped us craft a product strategy that scales to meet the demands of any industry. Coupling our products with SAP solutions for enterprise information management clearly propels our offerings into an industry leadership position for companies seeking information governance and data quality excellence.”

Citing a growing interest for data quality tools, Gartner said, “This demand is driven partly by activities in the fields of BI and analytics (analytical scenarios), MDM (operational scenarios) and digital business. Also contributing to demand are information governance programs, which are growing in number, and requirements to support ongoing operations, data migrations and interenterprise data sharing.”

In the report, Gartner forecasts that, “this market's growth will accelerate during the next few years, to 14.4% by 2017, bringing the total to $2.1 billion. This market is among the fastest-growing in the enterprise software sector.”

Evaluated for the report, the BackOffice Data Stewardship Platform (DSP) provides complete orchestration of the business process across data-intensive activities in migrations, data quality, governance and data archival.  A modern, web-based, single sign-on software, the DSP enables both business and IT users to manage all data stewardship tasks, from managing rules that standardize an organization’s data to correcting data errors and uploading harmonized data into new or consolidated systems.

BackOffice Associates also continues to receive strong market traction from its global reseller agreement with SAP, experiencing high demand for its two solutions sold through the partnership: the SAP® Data Services Migration Accelerator application by BackOffice Associates and the SAP Information Steward Accelerator application by BackOffice Associates.
